Suffering From Writer’s Block? Remember This…

Have you ever opened up your WordPress dashboard and just stared at the screen whilst scratching your head and alt-tabbing back and forth between Facebook or your desktop background? Those days where you have so much you want to say but no idea where to start? Or perhaps those days where you’ll write the first line for about fifty different posts but have no idea where to take any of them?

Today is one of those days for me.

‘So where on earth is this post going then?’ I hear you ask.

Having journaled on and off for about five years now, very little of what I’ve written in my own private journal has made it onto Greatness Via Passion. So I thought today, whilst my creativity wanes, I’d ‘set free’ a few of these thoughts to give you an insight into my crazy mind and remind you of an important lesson. Here goes!

Distant realms begin to fade as our old friend’s enduring smile continues to shadow our every step; his jealousy of our insatiable curiosity for what lay beyond humbly overlooked.

To foster a vision so clear; to live a purpose not for acclaim.

Better alone than in the company of wolves.

To aspire for the life of another is to lose sight of the beauty in one’s own.

Diamonds Liquid Crystals are a girl’s best friend.

That tomorrow will come bears no evidence but for the fact it always has. Some find it impossible to believe in something that they cannot see, hear or feel. But they forget they’ve been doing it their whole life.

I pan the sky in search of a cloud and wonder why I ever wanted to leave.

‘Ordinary’ is simply a word we have come to use to describe people, places or things whose unique beauty we cannot yet see.

Do bugs feel pain?

Be sure to let me know your favourite in the comments below (and if you know the answer to the last!) 🙂

And remember, whether it be writing content for your blog or for the pages of your own private journal; whether long essays, simple thoughts or perhaps just poignant words – keep writing them down. You never know what those simple thoughts could one day spark; perhaps a poem, perhaps a book, perhaps more! They don’t have to make sense at the time, just pick up your pen and start writing.

‘Better caught in the moment than lost forever.’

Keep being awesome team 😀

Greatness Via Passion.

Me!About The Author (That’s me!)

I’m 22 years old, live in the land down-under and am a writer, sometimes speaker and beyondblue Ambassador. Fun fact: I’ve only missed one Summer, northern and southern hemispheres, in the last four years! You can say G’day on Twitter or Instagram or read more about my story here 😀

  1. I record all my “ideas” in the draft file of my blog, sometimes just one word, sometimes a few loose thoughts, then when I go back to view them, these words inspire me

    1. Exactly, one thing I forgot to add to that post was how helpful those few thoughts scribbled down are in then combating writer’s block the next time you’re hit with it! Thanks for your comment 🙂

  2. Do bugs feel pain? Aha I’ve always wondered that too! It actually concerns me so much that I refuse to kill them. I learned from one of my evolutionary biology courses that insects don’t have the kinds of pain receptors or neurological systems to sense physical pain like us.. So maybe they don’t. But now that gets me wondering… what about emotional pain?
